Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

E pather sheś kotháy
Ádio nei antao nei
Kothá hate ese kotháy jáy
Sheś kotháy

Ke se pathikrt lukiye rayeche
Eta khuṋji tabu dekhá ná diteche
Dúre nay jáni káche áche
Kena se dhará ná dite cáy

Kii cáy se kathá spaśt́a bale ná
Kii karile áse táo jánáy ná
Darshan vijiṋáne áse ná
Mor buddhite bojhá dáy
Tái tár krpá biná nái upáy

O lord,
where is the terminus of this path?
There is no start and no finish.
Where is the origin, and where does it lead?
Who is the pioneer? who remains hidden?

Even after so much searching,
He is not seen.
This much though, i do know;
that he is nearby.

But, why then does he not
come into fold?
What does he want?
He does not say clearly.
Nor, does he reveal.

What does he do upon arrival?
He does not come into philosophy and science.
My intellect finds him difficult to understand.

Hence, other than his grace, there is no remedy.
