Ei puśpita bakula tale
Tumi esechile
Maner gahane nibhrta bhuvane
Dvárguli khule dile

Ámi chinu eká eká
Andhatamasá d́háká
Álor rashmirekhá
Dúre t́hele

Asiim ákáshe chilo álor bahár
Maner májháre chilo nikaśa áṋdhár
Tumi káche ele diip jvele gele
Báhir bhitar ek kare dile

এই পুষ্পিত বকুল তলে
তুমি এসেছিলে
মনের গহনে নিভৃত ভুবনে
দ্বারগুলি খুলে’ দিলে

আমি ছিনু একা একা
অন্ধতমসা-ঢাকা
আলোর রশ্মিরেখা
দূরে ঠেলে’

অসীম আকাশে ছিল আলোর বাহার
মনের মাঝারে ছিল নিকষ আঁধার
তুমি কাছে এলে দীপ জ্বেলে’ গেলে
বাহির-ভিতর এক করে’ দিলে

Neath this budding bakul tree,
You had appeared.
In mind's depths, a private world,
Doors You did open.

I had been all by myself,
Wrapped in gloomy ignorance.
Streaks of light-rays,
They were thrust far away.

In the vast sky was light's exhibition,
But within mind there was utter darkness.
You came near; a lamp You lit...
You unified outside and in.
