এসেছিলে তুমি এসেছিলে অনুরাগে
শেফালীর মালা কণ্ঠে দোলায়ে
সুস্মিত পরাগে

ভেসে' চলেছিল সাদা মেঘরাশি
কাশের বনেতে রজতাভ হাসি
বেজে' চলেছিল তব বেণুবাঁশী
মন-মাতানো রাগে

আর কি সে দিন আসিবে না ফিরে'
শরৎ সমীর সন্ধ্যাকে ঘিরে'
সব বেদনার আঁধারকে চিরে'
জীবনের পুরোভাগে

On this red coloured evening,
you came with smile lovingly,
oscillating the garland of
fragrant shefa’lii flowers
in the neck.
white clouds were floating,
and in the jungle of tall grass,
whitish smile radiated.
your bamboo flute was sounding
in intoxicating melody.
Will not that day return back,
covered with winter evening breeze,
piercing through all darkness of pain,
as leading part of life.
