Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ei vanaviithikáy puśpamáyáy
Nije ese dhará dile ámáy
Je kathá balile jáhá shikháile
Smrtipat́e dhare rekhechi táy

Bhulite pári ná se tithir kathá
Mamatá mákháno sei práńiinatá
Mánasa kusume smarutkrame[nb 2]
Snigdha kari tá bhálabásáy

Ámár májháre peyechi tomáre
Etadin vrthá khuṋjechi báhire
Maner gahane vijane gopane
Púrńa karechi sab ásháy

O lord, through the charm of flowers in this garden lane,
you came Yourself and stayed in my fold.
baba, whatever you have taught and whatever you have told,
all that i have retained on my mental plate.
i cannot forget the event of that day,
that sweetness smeared vivacity.
i go on keeping that mental flower soft, with love,
throughout the seasons and months.
i got you within myself, while all these days i had
been uselessly searching outside. i have now achieved
all my aspirations in the depth of mind,
secretly in isolation.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ The Bangla source is completely contradictory as to the last word of this line, and neither version seems correct. In absence of a third and reliable source, this is a best guess.
