A melody of the new rings out today,
A melody of the new rang out today,
Making flowers sway.
Making every flower sway.
The world dresses in fresh apparel;
Earth was dressed in fresh apparel;
Gone are all heart's troubles.
Every pain or trouble was forgotten.

Today, no obstacles impede our progress.
Today, on the path of progress no impediment is there;
Our spirited songs are sung in one tune.
Full-throated song is rehearsed in only one melody.
Dismissing all differences, united and laughing,
Today, overlooking disparity, in concert let's go forth laughing;
Come, let us bring everyone forward together.
Come let us move together, taking everybody.

In the rhythm of dance, with boundless bliss,
In rhythm of dance, with a pleasure immense,
In the fragrant aroma of life's pollen,
In the fragrant scent of heart's pollen,
In this atmosphere of new year's delight,
In this climate of the new year's happiness,
Where is He who for Whom every heart capers,
Oh, where is He Who made everybody frolic;
Every mind hankers?
He gave excitement.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ek nútaner sur áji bájlo bájlo
Phule phule dolá diye
Dharitrii nava sáje sájlo sájlo
Sab klesh vyathá dilo bhuliye

Áj sumukhe calár pathe nei kona bádhá
Kańt́habhará gán eki sure sádhá
Áj bhed bhule milemishe egiye calo hese
Sabáike sauṋge niye (calo)

Nrtyera chande amita ánande
Paráńer paráger surabhita gandhe
Navavarśer ei harśer pariveshe
Se go kothá sabáre je dilo náciye
Dilo mátiye

A melody of the new rang out today,
Making every flower sway.
Earth was dressed in fresh apparel;
Every pain or trouble was forgotten.

Today, on the path of progress no impediment is there;
Full-throated song is rehearsed in only one melody.
Today, overlooking disparity, in concert let's go forth laughing;
Come let us move together, taking everybody.

In rhythm of dance, with a pleasure immense,
In the fragrant scent of heart's pollen,
In this climate of the new year's happiness,
Oh, where is He Who made everybody frolic;
He gave excitement.
