Ek parikramar halo anta is the 126th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ek parikramár halo anta

Din tithi bahe jáy
Vatsar cale jáy
Kata phul jhare jáy
Kata phal paŕe jáy
Vatsar cale jáy

Kata uttápe chande gánete
Kata udvege ashrudháráte
Vatsar chilo mor práńe mishe
Áji háy háráiyá jáy
Ajánáy sare jáy

Járá áse áse jávár janye
Járá jáy jáy ásár janye
Dúr niilimáy járá bhese jáy
Tárá punah ese jáy
Nava rúpe ese jáy

Ek parikramár halo anta

One rotation[nb 2] is over.

The days[nb 3] flow on;
The year goes by.
So many flowers fall;
So many fruits drop.
The year goes by.

Through many ardent songs,
Through many anxious tears,
With my life the year did blend.
Alas, today, it's lost;
It passes into oblivion.

Those who come, come to go;
Those who go, go to come.
Those who float into the blue yonder—
They come again.
They come in new form.

One rotation is over.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Rotation could refer to the cycle of the year (lunar or solar). However, in the context of this song, it more likely refers to the rotation of the six ecological seasons (rtus) of India. In Bengali, and as ordered in Songs 88-125, they are:
    • Hemant (Prewinter)
    • Shiit (Winter)
    • Vasant (Spring)
    • Griiśma (Summer)
    • Varaśá (Monsoon)
    • Sharat (Autumn)
  3. ^ Here days refers to lunar days.
