Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ekelá patha cali kichute náhi t́ali
Egiye cali ámi táhári t́áne
Atiita katháguli pichane rákhi pheli
Sadái jái cale táhári gáne

Mánasavrajaparikramáy háy
Kata kii je áse kata kii je jáy
Táder rauṋ rúper neshá moha ket́e
Satata calechi táhári páne

Pathera káṋt́águli upaŕiyá pheli
Sabár patha calá áloke bhare tuli
Sabár kathá bheve sabár anubhave
Nijere misháye sumadhura táne

I walk a solitary path; I never waver a bit.
I proceed, drawn only to Him.
Past events I leave behind;
Ever I move onward in His song.

Alas, circling my mental paradise,[nb 2]
So many things come and go.
Cutting away fascinations with their flashy forms,
Ever I have traveled in His direction.

I rip out the thorns on my path;
I paint with light the path of all.
Respecting everyone and sympathizing with them
Merges us in His sweet melody.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ Here the composer refers to Vraja, the childhood home of Krsna. Joy abounded as Krsna played His flute and protected His companions against any and all adversities.
