Sitting alone near the window,
Seated, seated by the window, feeling helpless,
I think about him only.
I've been thinking only about Him.
Who is that foreigner, who with much love,
Who's that Stranger, He Who loves in excess?
covers my sorrows with sweetness?
He veils my pain with sweetness.

During leisure hours, when i am alone,
In my idle hours when I'm lonesome,
I see his love in the crimson colour.
I behold His love stained with crimson.
Within actions too,
And also amid work is only His communion
I get absorbed in him when i think about him.
When I contemplate His message.

He does not forget me even if i forget him.
He does not ignore me, even when I forget Him
It is his viin'a' and his tinkling twang.
Mid a twanging of [[:wikipedia:Veena|viina]]-strings, only His.
My life flows into hundreds of flows,
In a hundred streams runs my existence,
with expressed charming awakening.
A charming loquaciousness having awakened.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Eklá base base vátáyana páshe
Bhávitechi shudhu tár kathá
Ke se paradeshii bhálabáse beshii
Mádhuriite d́háke mor vyathá

Alasa prahare ekákii jabe tháki
Aruńe ráuṋá ráge tári priiti dekhi
Kájera májheo tári mákhámákhi
Jabe bhávi tári váratá

Se bhole ná more jadi bá bhuli táre
Táhári viińár táreri jhauṋkáre
Ámár jiivan bahe shata dháre
Jágiye mohan mukharatá

Seated, seated by the window, feeling helpless,
I've been thinking only about Him.
Who's that Stranger, He Who loves in excess?
He veils my pain with sweetness.

In my idle hours when I'm lonesome,
I behold His love stained with crimson.
And also amid work is only His communion
When I contemplate His message.

He does not ignore me, even when I forget Him
Mid a twanging of viina-strings, only His.
In a hundred streams runs my existence,
A charming loquaciousness having awakened.
