Elam ese kaj karilam is the 283rd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Elám ese káj karilám
Ekhan phiriyá jabár pálá
Phuler sájit́i bhariyá nilám
Gáṋthiyá dilám málá

Nilám já kichu tár tulanáy
Dilám anek kam
Nilám já kichu rauṋe rúpete
Gandhe anupam

Járá bhálobesechilo tádera lágiyá
Ashrubhejá e málá

Cale jete halo karmer t́áne
Smrtikháni mor raye gelo práńe
E madhur smrti e amar giiti
Kakhano ki jáy bholá

I came and did the job;
Now it's time to go back.
I received a trayful of flowers,
And threaded a garland in return.

Compared to what I received,
I exchanged much less.
What I got in color and form
And fragrance was the best.

For those who loved me,
This garland is wet with tears.

Drawn by duty I am leaving,
But memories stay with me for life.
This sweet memory, this undying song,
Can it ever be forgotten?

Context

According to the notes of P. D. Narayan, Sarkar gave this song in recognition of the services rendered to him by the Ananda Margiis of Ranchi.[3]
