Kata tithi geche jhare
Kata tárá khase paŕe
Tabu ámi chinu jege
Ceye tava áshá pathe

Esechile madhuráte

এসেছিলে তুমি প্রভু
অন্ধকারের পার হতে
তোমা লাগি বসেছিনু
যুগে যুগে দিনে রাতে

কত তিথি গেছে ঝরে
কত তারা খসে পড়ে
তবু আমি ছিনু জেগে
চেয়ে তব আসা-পথে

(আমার) সব আশা আলোয় ভরে
এসেছিলে মধুরাতেতে

Lord, You came,
Crossing the pale of darkness.
I had been waiting
Day and night, age after age.

How many months passed by?
How many stars vanished from the sky?
