Tomá lági basechinu
Juge juge dine ráte

Kata tithi geche jhare
Kata tárá khase' paŕe'
Tabu ámi chinu jege
Ceye tava ásá pathe

Sab áshá áloy bhare (ámár)
Esechile madhuráte

এসেছিলে তুমি প্রভু
অন্ধকারের পার হ'তে
তোমা' লাগি বসেছিনু
যুগে যুগে দিনে রাতে

কত তিথি গেছে ঝরে'
কত তারা খসে' পড়ে'
তবু আমি ছিনু জেগে'
চেয়ে' তব আসা-পথে

সব আশা আলোয় ভরে' (আমার)
এসেছিলে মধুরাতে

Lord, You had appeared,
Coming from gloom's other bank.
For Your sake I had been waiting,
Age after age, both night and day.

So many lunar days have passed–
So many stars, dropped and detached.
In spite of that, I remained vigilant,
Watching Your arrival-path.

Filling all hopes mine with light,
One sweet night You had arrived.
