Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Eso tumi áji práte
Aruń áloy rauṋ meláte
Phuler sáji niye háte
Rauṋ berauṋer phúl tulite

Eṋko chavi maner matan
Nava rekháy nava lekháy
Bháv jágiye nútan nútan
Nava práńer unmádanáy
Nútan nútan pariveshe
Hásir chat́áy man mátáte

Nútan juger vártá niye
Nava sandhyár diipávaliite
Sabár duhkha sariye diye
Nútan kare bhálabásite
Kála cháyá guṋŕiye diye
Sonár rather jhalkánite

Please come now at break of day
To blend Your hue with the crimson light.
And carry a flower basket in hand
To gather blossoms of diverse colors.

Paint a mental picture,
With new lines and new design;
Awaken new and newer thoughts
With a fresh passion for life.
In that ever-new atmosphere,
Enchant us with the brightness of Your smile.

Come with the message of a new era.
Be the festival of light of a new evening.

Come and remove all my pains
with a new expression of love.
Come and crush the dark shadow
with the effulgence of your golden chariot.
