Five compulsory songs are the Prabhat Samgiita songs that Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar instructed all Ananda Margiis to learn at the least.

History

On 1982 September 14, Sarkar began giving songs that he had composed. Within three months, he had already given more than 150 songs. As this was quite a large number of songs, more than many of his adherents would be able to learn, Sarkar insisted only that all margiis should learn at least five specific songs compulsorily.[1] By the end of his life eight years later, Sarkar had given a total of 5,018 original songs – more songs than any other person in recorded history.

List of the five compulsory songs

The five compulsory songs are:

  1. Song 154: Eso eso
  2. Song 158: Tumi sabar mane acho
  3. Song 159: Tomay bhalabasi, prabhu ami bhalabasi
  4. Song 162: Kichu kaye jao kichu shune jao
  5. Song 163: Manke kona chota kajei nabte dobo na
