O lord,
In the lost melody of lost lyrics,
by your charming flute
With a magic flute You've raised my spirits...
You aroused melodies
At mind's depths in solitude and in silence,
of lost lyrics and tunes.
Dark of night was finished.

In the depth of my mind,
The tune that's got lost so far away,
in solitude and silence,
To reclaim anew I did not crave...
my cimmerian dark night came to an end.
I was musing, contemplating:
Later, it may not swing.

I wished not to lose again
In Your cosmos not a thing is lost;
the tune that had just drifted away.
It comes and goes each and every moment...
I thought and pondered
This key truth I could not grasp;
but could no more find its vibration.
So ever weeping I have been downcast.

In your universe,
nothing gets ever lost;
things come and go each moment.

This essence of absolute truth,
I could not understand.
Hence my crying and weeping,
and my becoming melancholic.

Harano ganer harano surete is the 1650th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Háráno gáner háráno surete
Mohan báṋshiite tulecho tán
Maner gahane niirave vijane
Kál rátrir halo avasán

Je sur háráye geche bahu dúre
Táháre cáhi ni punah pete phire
Tuliyá chilám bháviyáchilám
Se nahe to ár spandamán

Háráy ná kichu tomár bhuvane
Áse ár jáy prati kśańe kśańe
E sár satya bujhite pári ni
Tái keṋde keṋde hayechi mlán

In the lost melody of lost lyrics,
With a magic flute You've raised my spirits...
At mind's depths in solitude and in silence,
Dark of night was finished.

The tune that's got lost so far away,
To reclaim anew I did not crave...
I was musing, contemplating:
Later, it may not swing.

In Your cosmos not a thing is lost;
It comes and goes each and every moment...
This key truth I could not grasp;
So ever weeping I have been downcast.
