Synopsis

Real devotees do not want to give their sins to Parama Puruśa, rather, they want to offer flowers and sweets. They would like to carry the load of their sins themselves. Since they are very dear to Parama Puruśa, he takes away their sins without their permission. To take something without permission is known as stealing. So Parama Puruśa steals, and therefore He is known as “Hari” – you have taken refuge in Hari. There is no need to worry any more. In hell also Parama Puruśa will be with you. [1]

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

In this discourse, Anandamurti describes the state of action and reaction, and its impact on sinners. He states that this law of action and reaction would make for a long journey to liberation. Anandamurti explains that Parama Purusa, in order to spare devotees who have sought His refuge, also uses the name of Hari, Divine Stealer. He states that devotees would not knowingly give their sins to Parama Purusa, consequently as Hari, He takes them without their permission. In doing so, all are saved from the hell of their reactions and may be assured a bright future.[1]
