Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Jeoná jeoná ogo bandhu
Tomá lági jege áchi divánishi
Tumi ácho tái áche jagatavásii
Tomáke sakale morá bhálabási

Ei álo ei cháyá ei je vátás
Niilete cumki gáṋthá oi je ákásh
Tava sure tava tále sabái náce
Tava rág anurág sabái jáce
Bhuloná bhuloná ogo bandhu
Káche ese hese jáo madhura hási

Ei hási ei gán ei je álok
Bháver mádhurii bhará ei je dyulok
Tava náme erá sabe chande máte
Maner kathát́i kay tomári sáthe
Chiṋŕo ná chiṋŕo ná ogo bandhu
Práńer parash páoyá puśparáshi

Do not leave, do not leave, oh Loving Friend;
For Your sake without sleep am I constantly.
You exist, and so the dwellers of Your cosmos be;
Everybody, one and all, we're in love with Thee.

These light rays and these shadows, these gusts of wind,
On blue with spangles woven is the vast firmament.
To Your melody, to Your beat, everyone is dancing;
For Your love and affection, everyone is praying.
Don't neglect, don't neglect, oh Loving Friend;
Having come near, go on laughing with Your smile sweet.

The laughter and the songs, the brilliant splendor;
Full of pleasant contemplation is the very heaven.
Rhythmically rapt with Your name are all of them;
Only with You they convey the innermost thoughts.
Don't discard, don't discard, oh Loving Friend;
Let this floral bouquet get Your animating touch.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

Oh Paramapuruśa, do not desert me. I am spending sleepless nights for You. The universe exists because You are there. Because of Your presence the universe is created. So the existence of the universe is dependent on Your existence. All natural beauties are dancing; all are getting inspiration from You. All long for Your love and affection. Oh Lord, come close and smile Your sweet and charming smile. My garland represents my love and intimacy. Let the flowers of my garland remain forever.
