Jhariyá giyáche phúlera pápaŕi
Shukháye giyáche kusumahár
Árta paráńe rikta paráge
Ájike kii gán gáibo ár

Mańipadmer ratnavediite
Esecho sabár tritápa harite
Ámár jiivane vipariit hate
Kena dile balo hetu táhár

Balo krpánidhi nidáruń vidhi
Kena nilo mor kusumita hrdi
Ámár jiivane kena niravadhi
Santápe jhare ashrudhár
Abhijog nahe anujog e je
Ekhani balo kárań ihár

ঝরিয়া গিয়াছে ফুলের পাপড়ি
শুকায়ে গিয়াছে কুসুমহার
আর্ত পরাণে রিক্ত পরাগে
আজিকে কী গান গাইবো আর

মণিপদ্মের রত্নবেদীতে
এসেছো সবার ত্রিতাপ হরিতে
আমার জীবনে বিপরীত হতে
কেন দিলে বলো হেতু তাহার

বলো কৃপানিধি নিদারুণ বিধি
কেন নিলো মোর কুসুমিত হৃদি
আমার জীবনে কেন নিরবধি
সন্তাপে ঝরে অশ্রুধার
অভিযোগ নহে অনুযোগ এ যে
এখনই বলো কারণ ইহার

The petals have all fallen
my garland is dry.

With what tune
shall i serenade
my afflicted life?

Seated on an altar of jewels
You pledged salvation to all,
You came to dispel the darkness
from the three encumbered realms.

Tell me why, then,
You allowed
the reverse to happen to me.

Why, o merciful sea,
heartless providence
decreed
the demise of my tender heart?

Why do tears of pain
(excruciating)
flow ceaselessly?

Why, o why,
tell me, please,
right now.
It is not my complaint,
it is my grievance.
