(Kathá) Kaye gele tumi káne káne
Duhkher bháre nyúbja hiyáre
Ucchal kare gáne gáne

Vyathá bujhivár kehai chilo ná
Kathá shunivár samayo chilo ná
Krpádrśt́ite keu tákálo ná
Sabe sare gelo ánmane

Tumi ese gele niirave nibhrte
Kahile ámáre khushii bhará cite
Eká nao tumi ei dharáte
Ámi áchi sáthe práńe práńe

(কথা) কয়ে গেলে তুমি কানে কানে
দুঃখের ভারে ন্যুব্জ হিয়ারে
উচ্ছল করে গানে গানে

ব্যথা বুঝিবার কেহই ছিল না
কথা শুনিবার সময়ও ছিল না
কৃপাদৃষ্টিতে কেউ তাকাল না
সবে সরে’ গেল আনমনে

তুমি এসে’ গেলে নীরবে নিভৃতে
কহিলে আমারে খুশী-ভরা চিতে
একা নও তুমি এই ধরাতে
আমি আছি সাথে প্রাণে প্রাণে

The words You went on saying privately...
In a heart bent by the weight of agony,
They animate with songs aplenty!

There had been not anyone grasping my pain;
No one had even time to hear the tale.
Nobody looked on with a heedful grace;
All walked away, unmindfully.

Silently, secretly, You were of consequence;
Filling mind with delight, to me You uttered:
"You are not at all solitary on this earth;
Heart to heart, I keep company."
