O lord, who is telling that you are harsh;
Who has claimed You are severe,
you are as soft as a flower. i was under wrong impression.
Oh Tender One, a flower's only creed?
You show us our true form, coming close, smilingly.
The mistake have I been clarifying.
The external covering that you show is not your true nature.
Sweetly smiling having neared,
I have understood that the tenderness is covered by harshness.
You inquire how I'm doing.
Dry covering does not obstruct the sweet fragrance and taste

of a fruit, and soft touch of a flower, which is apparent.
On outside stays a covering;
It's not Your innate property.
Under the severity lies concealed
Tenderness, I have perceived.

Fruit's tasty juice, honey-sweet,
And floral pollen's touch refreshing...
Had You not remained tied to the dreary,
I would not have got what I've received.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ke baleche kat́hor tumi
Phuler mati komal go
Ámi bhul bujhiyechi
Miśt́i hese káche ese
Shudháo keman áchi

Báire tháke je ávarań
Nayko tomár svabháv aman
Kat́horatáy d́háká tháke
Komalatá bujhe gechi

Phaler miśt́imadhur suras
Phuler snigdha parág parash
Ná thákile bádhá niras
Petum ná já peyechi

Who has claimed You are severe,
Oh Tender One, a flower's only creed?
The mistake have I been clarifying.
Sweetly smiling having neared,
You inquire how I'm doing.

On outside stays a covering;
It's not Your innate property.
Under the severity lies concealed
Tenderness, I have perceived.

Fruit's tasty juice, honey-sweet,
And floral pollen's touch refreshing...
Had You not remained tied to the dreary,
I would not have got what I've received.
