Ke jena asiya kaye geche kane is the eighteenth song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2] It is also known as the song of egalitarianism.[3]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Ke jena ásiyá kaye geche káne
Nútan prabhát ásibe
Kálo kuyásár javaniká páre
Sonálii jiivan hásibe

Thákibe ná ár vyáthá háhákár
Bahibe ná ár shudhu ánkhidhár
Sab vedanár urdhva lokete
Práńer parág bhásibe

Sneha mamatár ei je bhuvan
Áshá bhálobásá madhura svapan
Sakal maner marme pashiyá
Sab kálo cháyá náshibe

Someone came and whispered in my ear,
"A new dawn will come.
Beyond the pall of black haze,
Golden life will laugh."

There'll be no more pain and sorrow.
There'll be no more tears.
Above the reach of all affliction,
Life's pollen will waft.

In this world, compassionate affection,
Hope, love, and sweet happy dreams
Will enter the inner core of all minds.
Every dark shadow will be dispelled.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[3]

Someone whispered in my ear that a new dawn will come. The golden life[nb 2] will laugh, crushing the Cimmerian darkness. There will be no more pain and sorrow, and no more tears. Affection, compassion, love, and hope will enter the inner core of all minds. All black shadows of pains and troubles will be dispelled by human love and human touch.[nb 3]

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ As published, the word light appears here. While that word makes sense in the context, it is not accurate in respect to the lyrics. In all likelihood, Sarkar said life, but the transcriber mistook that for light.
  3. ^ As published, the last sentence of Sarkar's exposition appeared also at the beginning of the exposition. This seems to have been a typographical error.
