Why did you come, if you would go away?
Why did You appear if You would come and leave?
This sort of coming we don't call coming.
Such an arrival, it is not called so,
Did you not feel sorry
No, no, no.
for fascinating and charming my mind
Having observed a bit, purging memory,
for a short period of time only?
Wasn't it an agony to go?

So many ages passed by waiting,
Many ages, they have passed in waiting;
the limits of my patience have broken down.
A dam has got broken, mind's expectancy.
When once you have come to me,
As You came, so forever please remain;
please always stay.
Myself don't forsake, torn by a bloom of hope.
Do not tear the flowers of my hope.

People say you are the ocean of grace,
At someplace You are labeled an ocean of grace;
but does your behaviour justify it?
Coming close to me, did You forget the name?
Do you forget your name when coming close to me?
Your high prestige and my wounded ego–
Your honour and my pride don't permit such duality
Among those two, please don't keep a hoax.
to come in between the two of us.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Kena ele jadi jábe cale
E ásáke ásá bale ná
Ná ná ná
Ekt́u ceye man bhuliye
Cale jete vyathá halo ná

Pratiikśá kare kata jug je geche
Apekśá maner báṋdh bheuṋgeche
Ele jadi tháko niravadhi
Áshár kusume chiṋŕe phelo ná

Krpánidhi eke bale náki
Mor káche ese nám bhule gele ki
Tomár sammán mor abhimán
E duyer májhe rekho ná chalaná

Why did You appear if You would come and leave?
Such an arrival, it is not called so,
No, no, no.
Having observed a bit, purging memory,
Wasn't it an agony to go?

Many ages, they have passed in waiting;
A dam has got broken, mind's expectancy.
As You came, so forever please remain;
Myself don't forsake, torn by a bloom of hope.

At someplace You are labeled an ocean of grace;
Coming close to me, did You forget the name?
Your high prestige and my wounded ego–
Among those two, please don't keep a hoax.
