Jiirńa kanthá jáy je sare

কৃষ্ণা রজনী যায় চলে
শুক্লা তিথি ফিরে আসে
ব্যথাভারে আজ যে ন্যুব্জ
কাল সে খুশীর আমেজে

হারিয়ে যাওয়া মধুর স্মৃতি
কানন-ভরা গন্ধ-গীতি
ক্লেশ-কশাঘাত ক্লিষ্ট রাতের
শেষে আসে সকাশে

জীর্ণ কন্থা যায় যে সরে
আঁধার হিয়ায় ঝিলিক মেরে
আজ যে রাজা কাল সে আতুর
আজ আতুর কাল রাজা সে

The dark night goes away;
Bright days come again.
Those bent under loads of pain today
Will bask anon in joy's aftertaste.

Sweet memories about to be lost
Are scented songs filling the forest.
Tortured nights, lashed by grief,

Worn-out rags are getting torn off,
Admitting gleams inside pitch-dark hearts.
Today's king, tomorrow's casualty;
Today's casualty, tomorrow's king.
