Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Madhur tumi mohan tumi
Tumi sushobhan priyatama
Káche thekeo dúre tumi
Antavihiin nabhah sama

Álo háoyáy ácho mishe
Báire ghare neiko kise
Mukta práńer chanda gáner
Spandanete ácho mama

Dhareo tomáy jáy ná dhará
Sabái tomár rúpe bhará
Rúpátiita máyátiita
Vishve tumi anupama

Sweet are You, charming are You;
You are very lovely, oh Darling Dear.
Even staying close-by, faraway are You,
Like the sky, never-ending.

With both light and wind You are mixed,
Abroad and at home, in no respect to which.
Having an open heart and meter poetic,
In their pulsation, You belong to me.

Though holding You, catching does not succeed;
Everybody is replete with Your beauty.
Beyond form, beyond worldly sorcery,
In the cosmos You don't have a peer.
