Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Mahákásh pete cáy mát́ir parash
Mát́i pete cáy nabhoniilimáke
Nabhoniilimáke nabhoniilimáke
Param puruś bhálabáse ańuke
Ańu bhálabáse sei puruś ke
Sei puruś ke sei puruś ke

Ańu brhater priiti juge juge
Prati pale anupale rúpe ráge
Chila áche cirakál thákiyá jábe
Itiháse rúpábháse hiyákorake
Hiyákorake hiyákorake

Bhálabásár bandhan rayeche
Dúratva tái bháuṋgiyá geche
Tumi eso káche prabhu áro káche
Tomáre dekhite cái prati palake
Prati palake prati palake

The great sky longs to touch the mud of the earth
and the earth's mud longs to attain the blue sky.

Parama purus'a loves the microcosm
and the microcosm loves that parama purus'a.

The love between the microcosm and the great
has lingered on era after era.
It remains alive every second and moment,
in form, taste and colour.
It was, it is and it will forever remain.

In history, within the core of hearts,
it displays itself as beauty.
The bondage of love remains,
while distances break down.

O lord,
come closer and still closer,
I long to see you each and every moment.
