Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Mane chilo áshá mor bhálabásá
Tomáre báṋdhite páribe
Pári ni bhávite ámár máláte
Kiit́er kálimá thákibe

Ságarer mańi tumi priyatama
Ákásher tárá ujjvalatama
Jiṋáne shaktite tomáre dharite
Sabáre viphal hate habe

Thákiyá jáibe mor bhálabásá
Anantakál buke niye áshá
Tomáre manane shudhái gopane
Hrdaye ásibe kabe

O lord, there was hope in mind
that my love for you would bind you.
i had not thought that in my garland,
the spots of insects were present.
o the dearest, you are the gem of the ocean,
the brightest star of the sky.
all attempts to hold you by power of knowledge
are sure to be futile.
my love will forever with hope in heart.
i ask you mentally, secretly,
in my heart when would you come?
