Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Mane chilo áshá tomáke sájábo
Nija kánaner phuladale
Áshá ná purilo kál baye gelo
Shishirágháte phul gelo cale

Puśpashajyá nije raciyáchi
Sajatane jal secana karechi
Hrdayera madhu se phule d́helechi
Madhupa tomáke dobo bale

Kál paribhúte sabe jáy áse
Ámár kánan punah jena háse
Tomár chavit́i sadá jena bháse
Ráge anuráge pale pale

In mind was a hope that Yourself I'll adorn
With petals of flowers from my own garden.
Time went by... unrealized was my ambition;
Struck by frost, the flowers vanished.

On my own a flowerbed I am preparing;
Water I have sprinkled painstakingly.
Into those blooms heart's nectar I have poured;
For to You, oh Honeybee, that will I offer...

Time-defeated, everything goes and comes;
But my garden may yet smile once more,
So that Your portrait may forever drift
With love and devotion moment after moment...
