Alas,
I know not how, in the depths of psyche,
I do not know,
Dear me, a strange good man did enter there.
how my unknown friend
In that man's absence, secretly,
entered the depth of my mind.
My heart swims in tears.

In his absence
Year after year, away the time went;
my heart silently melts into the tears
My fount of nectar, he stayed absent.
that flow from my eyes.
At last he turned up at this auspicious moment,
In monsoon season, with a subtlety effulgent.

Years after years passed by,
My longtime weariness has been severed;
The one who contains the store of nectar,
Peace has arrived in a trice and with a thrill.
remained far.
Only by his compassion, only by his greatness,

An ocean of beauty glitters.
After a very long time
He appeared on this auspicious moment,
showering his graceful effulgence.

My long lasting fatigue vanished.
Peace descended
on my once shivering eyes.
By his mercy and glory,
the ocean of beauty flashed inside me.

Maner gahane ki jani kemane is the 989th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Maner gahane ki jáni kemane
Ajáná sujan elo háy
Jáhár vihane sauṋgopane
Áṋkhidháre hiyá upacáy

Varaśer par varaś ket́eche
Sudhánidhi mor dúre raye geche
Elo etadine ei shubha kśańe
Jyoti tanimáy varaśáy

Diirghakáler klánti ket́eche
Palake pulake shánti eseche
Tári karuńáy tári mahimáy
Rupasamudra jhalakáy

I know not how, in the depths of psyche,
Dear me, a strange good man did enter there.
In that man's absence, secretly,
My heart swims in tears.

Year after year, away the time went;
My fount of nectar, he stayed absent.
At last he turned up at this auspicious moment,
In monsoon season, with a subtlety effulgent.

My longtime weariness has been severed;
Peace has arrived in a trice and with a thrill.
Only by his compassion, only by his greatness,
An ocean of beauty glitters.
