The cuckoo of my mind cries in solitude,
Mind's peacock-notes cry all alone,
looking at the distant sky.
Having gazed at sky remote.

Moon and clouds exist; but night's end is not
The moon is there, the cloud is there,
Awash with an atmosphere delicious.
but no sweet breeze fills the moonlit night.

You did not speak nor talk,
You did not come,
You did not look at the separation of our love.

You stayed distant and remained far,
You did not call,
as if i were unknown to you.

How close you used to be to me,
There are no impassioned pleas... You came not;
colouring my mind with sweetness of your colour!
Nor estrangement of love... You did not watch.
Having gone and stayed afar, You failed to summon;
It's as if a stranger You'd become.

From staying in form, you went to being formless,
At one time how close to me You had been;
floating through the playful divinity.
In hues bright You painted my mental sweetness.
Then You departed, taking form to formless,
Plying an illusory heaven.

Maner keka kande eka eka is the 1600th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Maner keká káṋde eká eká
Dúr ákáshe ceye
Cáṋd áche megh áche nei ko ráká
Bhará madhu váye

Balá nei kaoyá nei ásile ná
Priiti viraha nei tákále ná
Dúr theke dúre gele d́ákile ná
Gele acená haye

Ekdin mor káche kata ná chile
Maner mádhurii mor rauṋe ráuṋále
Rúp theke rúpátiite niye gele
Máyá alaká beye

Mind's peacock-notes cry all alone,
Having gazed at sky remote.
Moon and clouds exist; but night's end is not
Awash with an atmosphere delicious.

There are no impassioned pleas... You came not;
Nor estrangement of love... You did not watch.
Having gone and stayed afar, You failed to summon;
It's as if a stranger You'd become.

At one time how close to me You had been;
In hues bright You painted my mental sweetness.
Then You departed, taking form to formless,
Plying an illusory heaven.
