O lord, high up towards you,
Because of You the mental peacock,
the peacock of the mind
Gazing upward he goes dancing ahead.
goes on dancing.
He knows not at which unknown realm
it does not know to which unknown place
In lonely retreat You dwell.
you are dwelling in isolation.

it does not heed to any prohibition,
He pays no heed to prohibition;
how the domestic bondages can tie that?
Will the tethers of home restrain him?
like a bridle less horse,
Like a steed unbridled,
it rushes towards some unknown path.
He gallops on some lane unfamiliar.
when tied with the rope of love

it ignores all restrictions.
Tied by strings of love,
with the beats and rhythm of
Every impediment he makes light of.
insuppressible comet, it sings song.
To the tune of an untamed comet,
With cadence and beat he sings a hymn.

Maner mayur tomar tare is the 2383rd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Maner mayúr tomár tare
Úrdhve ceye nece jáy
Jáne ná se kon ajánáy
Tháko tumi niráláy

Kona mánái máne ná se
Gharer báṋdhan báṋdhbe ki se
Valgávihiin turag sama
Ajáná kon pathe dháy

Priitir d́ore báṋdhá paŕe
Sab bádhákei tuccha kare
Durdama dhúmketur sure
Chande tále giiti gáy

Because of You the mental peacock,
Gazing upward he goes dancing ahead.
He knows not at which unknown realm
In lonely retreat You dwell.

He pays no heed to prohibition;
Will the tethers of home restrain him?
Like a steed unbridled,
He gallops on some lane unfamiliar.

Tied by strings of love,
Every impediment he makes light of.
To the tune of an untamed comet,
With cadence and beat he sings a hymn.
