Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Masiikrśńa tamasáte
Ke go ele álokamay
Abhávaniiya shudhu nay
Áṋkhite je ná hay pratyay

Kata juger tapasyáte
Ele tumi ájke ráte
Maner shubhra bhávanáte
Ut́hle phut́e giitimay

Nayan mele ceye dekhi
Tumi ámár sauṋge tháki
Juge juge man bharecho
Diip jváliye he cinmay

Inside ignorance black as ink,
Who arrived with light replete?
Not only unthinkably unique,
But in the eyes there's no belief.

After many ages in pious austerity,
On this day at night You appeared.
In the mind's bright reverie,
Full of song, You rose blooming.

Eyes opened, now looking I see
Along with me You are staying.
Age to age You've filled psyche,
Lighting a lamp, hey Wisdom Embodied.
