Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Mor kabariir málá shukiyeche
Kańt́her gán theme geche
Krandanrata ei sandhyáy
Man shudhu tava krpá jáce

Ekbár balo kona bhay nái
Sauṋge rayechi thákibo sadái
Hárái hárái ei bhay pái
Áshár álok niviteche

Tabuo ámi damibo ná kabhu
Tava bhávanáy bal pái prabhu
Je áshár diip áj nibunibu
Táte ghrta salitá eseche

O Lord, the garland of my chignon is dried up,
the song at the throat is stopped.
On this tearful evening
the mind seeks only Your grace.
Tell me once, “Nothing to fear,
I am with you and would remain for ever”.
Losing time and again, I get afraid,
the light of hope gets extinguished.
Still I shall never be subdued,
by Your ideation, I shall get strength.
The lamp of hope that was
about to extinguish today,
in that wick and fuel came.
