With the rhythm of dance it toils,
With the rhythm of dance it proceeds,
This laterite soil.
This reddish-colored earth.
Indeed, this is not just soil;
Know that it's not clay only;
It is my mother.
Lo, it is my mother.

In paddy fields, the tender sprouts
In paddy fields on the rice-spikes,
Grow ripe, emitting a golden light.
Arises a golden light;
People of the soil regard them
Men of the land deem that to be
As real gold.
The purest gold indeed...
This earth is my mother.
The earth, it is my mother.

The sky and the stars, the fragrance of flowers,
The stars and sky, the floral scent,
The sweet, ambrosial water and air—
Water and air, sweetly pleasant;
With all these but greater for me is
Along with these abides for me
The eye-pleasing soil.
The soil, so eye-pleasing...
This earth is my mother.
The earth, it is my mother.

Lord, if You love me,
My Friend, if You do hold me dear,
Now is the time to come close.
This very day, please come near;
Today, by Your grace, I would mold
By Your grace, we will create
True human beings.
True human beings for real...
This earth is my mother.
The earth, it is my mother.

With the rhythm of dance it proceeds,
This reddish-colored earth.
Know that it's not clay only;
Lo, it is my mother.

In paddy fields on the rice-spikes,
Arises a golden light;
Men of the land deem that to be
The purest gold indeed...
The earth, it is my mother.

The stars and sky, the floral scent,
Water and air, sweetly pleasant;
Along with these abides for me
The soil, so eye-pleasing...
The earth, it is my mother.

My Friend, if You do hold me dear,
This very day, please come near;
By Your grace, we will create
True human beings for real...
The earth, it is my mother.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

This laterite soil which has got its reddish hue from the reddish feet of my mother, is singing and dancing and moving towards the Supreme Goal. This blue sky studded with stars, these green fields full of golden paddy – everything is charming. Everyone in this world is joyful, in this divine atmosphere, in this bountiful atmosphere. And everyone wants there to be a fine and beautiful human society. So you, the Paramapuruśa, the greatest friend, please come closer; and, with Your blessing, create a good and charming human society.
