Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Nidrá tandrá krodh álasya
Diirghasútratá bhay e dośe chay
Mahán vyaktio adhahpáte jáy
Adhamera kathá balári nay

Pariir nikat́e rańe hárár pare
Rájkumárerá gelo tepántare
Pakśiráj ghoŕá jot́ávára tare
Ná hale parii dhará viśama dáy

Rájakiiya royávete tárá mete
Mánuśe mánuś máne ni kona mate
Káro bhálabásá pelo ná táhárá
Demákeri dápe bodh háráy

Buddhi háriye rańe here giye
Dánavera páshe bandii hay
Tárá andha kárágáre kál kát́áy

Sleep, stupor, anger, sloth,
Procrastination, and fear– with these six flaws
Even the great are undone,
Not to speak of lesser ones.

After being vanquished by the fairy,
The princes went unto the back country.
A winged horse they sought to procure;
Without it, hard indeed would be a fairy's capture.

With royal heritage they were besotted,
To views of commoners they gave no respect.
So no one's love they did win;
In arrogant pride, lost is acumen.

Defeated in battle and bereft of intellect,
By an evil demon they were confined;
In a dark prison cell they now pass time.
