Niiravata majhe ke go tumi ele is the seventh song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2][3] It is also known as the Song of Buddha.[4]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Niiravatá májhe ke go tumi ele
Ghanaghor ghum bháuṋgáte
Ghum bháuṋgále

Jhat́ikár gháte nebáno diipete
Jiṋánshalákát́i jválále

Sájáno bágáne chot́a khelághare
Járá áse tárá cale jáy dúre
Táder pather nisháná ájike
Diip jvele diye jánále

Oh, Who are You Who came amid the silence,
Our cloud-darkened sleep to demolish...
You dispelled our slumber.

Stricken by storm, our lamp extinguished,
You ignited the matchstick of knowledge.

In our tiny playroom of Your ornate garden,
Those who come are going a great distance.
Today, their path's ultimate target,
You revealed it with the lamp You lit.

Purport

This is how Sarkar himself described the meaning of the song—[4]

Oh Paramapuruśa, You have come to break the bondage of slumber. You lighted the lamp of knowledge which was extinguished by thunderstorms. You are the lighthouse that saves us from any destruction, from the ravages of cyclones. People come and go in this world without direction; You have shown them how to reach their destination.
