Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

(O se) Madhuratá mákhá shyámaráy
Marma májhe ese geche
Saráte náhi je pári táy

Tár se madhura hási
Mukutá jhare je ráshi ráshi
(Ámi) Dekhiyá nayanajale bhási
Pásharite nári táháy

Shuńe se mohana báṋshii
Udvel hiyá halo udásii
Sakala tamasá kothá gelo bhási
Cári dike álo jhalakáy

He is my sweet shyamaray.

He has entered my innermost heart.
I cannot part from him anymore.

That sweet smile of his sheds pearls in abundance.
Seeing this, my eyes become filled with tears.
I cannot forget him.

The sound of his magic flute made my heart restless.
All darkness vanished, drifting away into obscurity.
All around only sparkles of effulgence remain.
