Mor duyáre kśańika dáṋŕiyechilo
Cini ni táre ámi d́áki ni bárek
Mrdu hese se cale giyechilo

Bhul bheuṋgechilo mor anek pare
Dvár khule esechinu chut́e báhire
Káche o dúre vrthá khuṋjechi táre
Se chilo ná tár málá paŕe chilo

Jiivane anek bhul haye tháke
Bhuler práyashcitta-o to tháke
Áj d́áki táke práńbhará ávege
Bujhi ná se d́ák tár káne ki gelo

পথ চিনে' এসেছিল অজানা পথিক
মোর দুয়ারে ক্ষণিক দাঁড়িয়েছিল
চিনি নি তারে আমি ডাকি নি বারেক
মৃদু হেসে' সে চলে' গিয়েছিল

ভুল ভেঙ্গেছিল মোর অনেক পরে
দ্বার খুলে' এসেছিনু ছুটে' বাহিরে
কাছে ও দূরে বৃথা খুঁজেছি তারে
সে ছিল না তার মালা পড়ে' ছিল

জীবনে অনেক ভুল হয়ে থাকে
ভুলের প্রায়শ্চিত্তও তো থাকে
আজ ডাকি তাকে প্রাণভরা আবেগে
বুঝি না সে ডাক তার কাণে কি গেল

Knowing the path, the Unknown Traveler had come;
At my gate He had stood, waiting momentarily.
Him I failed to recognize, invited not once;
He went away, gently smiling.

Too late had I been disillusioned;
Opening the gate, I had raced out-of-doors.
Near and far in vain for Him I've sought;
But His garland was dropped, He wasn't there.

In life transpire many blunders;
But atonement for mistakes also happens!
Presently, I call to Him with heartfelt passion;
Could it be that invitation did not go unto His ear?
