O lord, where is the end of the path,
Where is the path's finish;
you tell me.
Tell me, You!
i do not see the beginning or end,
I don't see even a start, I don't see an end;
what for we get the middle?
Center I do get, but what is the use?
you have created the path,

provided inspiration,
A path You've created, and You have motivated;
given intellect to understand the desideratum.
For grasping the goal, You have given intellect.
you have given all, leaving nothing
You have given everything, arrears You've not kept;
and even shower grace for understanding you.
Please take pity that Yourself I may deduce.
from time immemorial, you come down,

forgetting pause and abstinence.
You have gone out since a time without start;
o my supreme goal, my ultimate cherished desire,
You have been moving, neglecting pause or interval.
by becoming your instrument,
Hey my Cherished One, my devout aspiration:
i shall decorate and beautify the world.
Having become Your tool, this world I festoon.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Pather sheś kotháy
Tumi balo more
Ádio dekhi ná anta dekhi ná
Madhya pái kii kare

Patha raciyácho prerańá diyácho
Lakśya bujhiváre buddhi diyácho
Sabi diyácho bákii ná rekhecho
Krpá karo játe bujhi tomáre

Anádi kál dhare caliyá esecho
Jati virati bhuliyá giyácho
He mor iśt́a mor abhiiśt́a
Tomár jantra haye sájái e dharáre

Where is the path's finish;
Tell me, You!
I don't see even a start, I don't see an end;
Center I do get, but what is the use?

A path You've created, and You have motivated;
For grasping the goal, You have given intellect.
You have given everything, arrears You've not kept;
Please take pity that Yourself I may deduce.

You have gone out since a time without start;
You have been moving, neglecting pause or interval.
Hey my Cherished One, my devout aspiration:
Having become Your tool, this world I festoon.
