Return. go back, and return to your own hut.
Please go back, come on, let's go,
The account of desire and attainment is cleared.
Return to your proper dwelling...
Who is now calling from behind? why look back?
Vain is the reckoning of wanting and getting.
Who is the One behind, inviting where,
For Whose sake we gaze to the rear?

I came to perform action.
I have come, work to perform;
I cannot tolerate delay anymore.
Delay is borne no more.
The sun is going to set.
Sun is setting, it gets dark;
Darkness is about to come.
Beckoning, Who calls me?

Who is now calling with gesture of hand?
Labor has no end; I find no end of path also.
There is no end of work;
Yet I've gone out to goad; I've been enrolled
I also do not find the end of the path.
To escort homeward those who must be steered.
Still, i go on,
and make others move in frenzy,
so that we reach our own original home.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Phire calo jái calo
Phire calo nija kut́ire
Cáoyá páoyár hisáb miche
Kotháy ke káre d́áke je piche
Pichane tákái kár tare

Esechi karite káj
Deri sahe ná ár
Súrja d́úbe jáy áṋdhár hay hay
Hátchánite ke d́áke more

Kájero sheś nái pathero sheś ná pái
Tabu calechi caláte metechi
Paoṋchute habe nija ghare

Please go back, come on, let's go,
Return to your proper dwelling...
Vain is the reckoning of wanting and getting.
Who is the One behind, inviting where,
For Whose sake we gaze to the rear?

I have come, work to perform;
Delay is borne no more.
Sun is setting, it gets dark;
Beckoning, Who calls me?

Labor has no end; I find no end of path also.
Yet I've gone out to goad; I've been enrolled
To escort homeward those who must be steered.
