My distressed mind weeps constantly.
My distressed mind weeps constantly.

You were so close yet i called you not.
You were so close, and yet I did not call;
My days and nights have passed in vain.
My days and nights have passed in vain.
The more i recall in the twilight of my life,
At this late stage in life, that very story
the more pain i feel.
The more it comes to mind, the more pain I get.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Prathama jiivane tumi áso niko
Tár lági mane kona klesh nái
(Tomáre khúṋji ni) sei anutápe
Dagdha e hiyá káṋde sadái

(Eta káche chile) tabuo d́ákini
Vrthái ket́eche divasa jáminii
(Ei aveláy) sei kathái
Jata mane jáge tata vyathá pái

Sabái ese tháke báṋdhá mápá kále
Káj kare jete ei dharátale
(Viphale samay) kare apacaya
Vidhátáke doś diye lábh nái

You did not come in my early life;
In my mind is no anguish over that.
I did not seek... with this remorse,
My distressed mind weeps constantly.

You were so close, and yet I did not call;
My days and nights have passed in vain.
At this late stage in life, that very story
The more it comes to mind, the more pain I get.

All come to this earth for a limited time to work,
and yet, we waste our time in useless pursuits.
No use to blame the lord for this.
