O dear,
Oh Beloved, You are mine;
You are mine.
Why that's so, I don't know, I can't understand;
Why? i do not know this fact.
But for understanding I've no keen desire.
I am unable to understand.
Perhaps there is no keen earnestness for understanding that.
You have given me a mind with limited boundary,
with that who can understand you?
All such efforts are useless and nothing but waste of time.
The mind wants to hold most difficult for it.
Fathoming the bottom of the ocean of effulgence,
can anybody's mind find happiness any time?

I shall totally submerge in the effulgence, and remain your own.
The mind You have given with limited periphery;
I shall get unified with you, dissolving in you.
Inside that, who can comprehend Thee?
But by futile effort, through squandering of time,
Mind wants to catch what cannot be confined.

Alas, by gauging the luminous ocean's depths,
Does anybody's psyche ever find happiness?
I will mingle with the light, I will become Thine;
And by intimacy We will be alike.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Priya tumi je ámár
Kena tá jáni ná bujhite pári ná
Ágraha nei bujhivár

Je man diyecho siimit parisare
Táte tomáre ke bujhiváre páre
Vyartha prayáse kálápavyay cheŕe
Dharite man cáhe durnivár

Jyotihsamudrer tal mepe háy
Sukh káro man kakhano ki páy
Jyotih-te mishe jábo tomár haye rabo
Milemishe habo ekákár

Oh Beloved, You are mine;
Why that's so, I don't know, I can't understand;
But for understanding I've no keen desire.

The mind You have given with limited periphery;
Inside that, who can comprehend Thee?
But by futile effort, through squandering of time,
Mind wants to catch what cannot be confined.

Alas, by gauging the luminous ocean's depths,
Does anybody's psyche ever find happiness?
I will mingle with the light, I will become Thine;
And by intimacy We will be alike.
