Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Priyatama anirvacaniiya (tumi)
Tomár madhur hási mohan báṋshii
Svapnalokeo akalpaniiya

Tomáy pete kari árádhaná
Tomár tare mor jata sádhaná
Tomár rúpe ráge kari náná
Rauṋer ei dharańi[nb 2] ramańiiya

Tomár bhálabásáy bhará dhará
Tomári abhiipsáy giiti jhará
Tomár priiti nitya madhukśará
Bodhátiita tumi varańiiya

O the dearest, indescribable, your sweet smile and
charming flute is unimaginable even in dream.
For attaining you, i perform worship to attain you,
all my sa'dhana' is for you. by your beauty and colours,
I beautify this earth through diverse colours. the world
is full of your love, with you as the objective, songs emerge.
Your love is ever sweetness radiating, you are beyond intuition,
O the most adorable.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ In all of the published versions, the word dhará is given. However, in the audio file dharańi is heard. As the meaning is the same (and both rhythmically and poetically the audio version is appealing), dharańi is preferred here.
