Raktima práte álo jhará háte
Tumi esechile krpá kare
Madhur hásit́i du'nayane chilo
Madhur báṋshiit́i ráuṋádhare

Esei balile jái jái jái
Thákibár mor samay je nái
Kálbandhan náhi je ámár
Kemane dharibe káládháre

Ámi balilám more sáthe náo
Kálátiita more kariyá dáo
Káler báhire niye jáoyá more
Tava káj jáno bhálo kare

রক্তিম প্রাতে আলো-ঝরা হাতে
তুমি এসেছিলে কৃপা করে'
মধুর হাসিটি দু'নয়নে ছিল
মধুর বাঁশীটি রাঙাধরে

এসেই বলিলে যাই যাই যাই
থাকিবার মোর সময় যে নাই
কালবন্ধন নাহি যে আমার
কেমনে ধরিবে কালাধারে

আমি বলিলাম মোরে সাথে নাও
কালাতীত মোরে করিয়া নাও
কালের বাহিরে নিয়ে যাওয়া মোরে
তব কাজ জান ভালো করে

O lord,
on that crimson morning,
with light-radiating hands,
You came to me,
bestowing your grace.

There was a sweet smile
in both your eyes
and a charming flute played
on your coloured lips.

Soon after you had came, you announced:
"i am going,
I have no time to stay.
I have no bondage of time,
how are you to hold me within the limits of time?"

I told you:
"take me with you,
make me beyond time
and take me outside the limitations of time,
so that i may perform your work in a better way.
