Rauniin parii aj caleche kothay is the 396th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1] This song is the second in a series of six chronological songs that briefly retell Sarkar's rich children's story, The Golden Lotus of the Blue Sea. Each song amplifies metaphorical elements and aspects of the plot.

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Rauṋiin parii áj caleche kotháy
Sońár kamal buke niye se uŕiche
Niilákáshe bahu dúre jáy

Haoyár starerá halká haye jáiteche
Megher rájya kramashah laghu haiteche
Parii uŕiteche uŕiteche
Druta vege áro vege dháy

Pariirájyer siimáná ese paŕeche
Tárárá áro beshii jhalamal kariteche
Cáṋd áro beshii hásiteche
E phúl parii deve tár devatáy

Now where has the colorful fairy gone?
Gold lotus at her breast, she has flown away;
In the blue sky she travels to a very distant place.

The layers of atmosphere get lighter,
And steadily the clouds grow thinner;
But the fairy goes on flying.
Faster and faster, she hies.

She crosses the fairyland border,
And the stars sparkle much more;
The moon, it beams more brightly.
The fairy will offer this flower to her deity.
