Rekho na katha rekho is the 1887th song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Rekho ná kathá rekho
Mor samádhite gul
Káṋt́á thákile thákuk
Vyathá náhi páy bulbul

Chot́a patauṋga áloy
Ásite páre chut́e
Puŕite páre pákhá
Priiti jete páre t́ut́e
Tái jvelo ná cirág
Áṋdháre dulbo dodul

Trńer ástarań ná cái
Jadi carańdhúli pái
Nibhrte kabarete
Bhásáye dobo elocúl

O lord,
please keep your word;
keep me ever absorbed in trance.

Thorns are present,
let them be,
they do not hurt the nightingale.

The small flea rushes when light comes.
Even after burning its wings,
it does not abandon its attraction to the flame.

Hence do not kindle your lamp;
I shall oscillate with a swing in the darkness.

Attaining the dust of your feet,
I do not want a grass blanket.

At the grave
I shall silently discard my loosely hanging, unkemped hair.
