Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Rum jhum rum jhum núpur bájáye
Ke go tumi ele hrdi májhe

Mananer uttál tarange diye tál
Ke go ele mohan sáje

Madhur hásite dhará surabhit kariyá
Adharer bánshite mukharita kariyá
Cári dik álokit karite karite
Ke go ele chande o náce

Rum jhum rum jhum núpur dhvanit́i
Hrdi májhe jena sadá báje

Rum-jhum, rum-jhum...
With the jingling of ankle bells,
Who are You that came into my being,
Keeping rhythm with my overflowing heart?
Who are You that came
In such charming appearance?
Perfuming the world
With Your sweet smile,
Vibrating the world
With the flute on Your lips,
Radiating Your effulgence everywhere?
Who are You that came in rhythm and dance?
Rum-jhum, rum-jhum...
With the jingling of ankle bells?
Oh, if only that sound
Would always ring in my heart.
