Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Rumjhum rumjhum núpura bájáye
Ke go tumi ele hrdimájhe

Mananer uttál tarauṋge diye tál
Ke go ele mohana sáje

Madhur hásite dhará surabhita kariyá
Adharer bánshiite mukharita kariyá
Cáridik álokita karite karite
Ke go ele chande o náce

Rumjhum rumjhum núpura dhvanit́i
Hrdimájhe jena sadá báje

Rumjhum, rumjhum... with the jingling of anklet bells,
Who are You, Lord, that came into my heart?

Giving rhythmic beat to the turbulent waves of my mind,
Who are You, Lord, that came in such charming garb.

Perfuming the world
With Your sweet smile,
Vibrating the world
With the flute on Your lips,
Radiating Your effulgence everywhere?
Who are You that came in rhythm and dance?
Rum-jhum, rum-jhum...
With the jingling of ankle bells?
Oh, if only that sound
Would always ring in my heart.
