Scope for Environmental Adjustment is a discourse given by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti in 1969. This discourse is the fourth chapter of Ananda Vacanamrtam Part 33.[1]

Synopsis

People were carefree on elephants’ backs, but they are sufficiently careful when they are driving a motor car or scooter. When going to the moon or Mars, people should be sufficiently cautious. The body and mind should be properly adjusted. This is called environmental adjustment. Ásana, práńáyáma [yogic postures and breathing], etc., help us in this adjustment.

Shrii Shrii Anandamurti

Anandamurti starts the discourse by saying that human beings are progressing at great speed. This progress can be seen in many areas such as food, culture, transportation, and communication. Anandamurti then explains that it is necessary to adapt to new changes in the environment. Ásana and práńáyáma help us in such an adjustment. Anandamurti goes on saying that economic pressure like the dowry system is not accepted in Ananda Marga. Our social rights have been defined at present, but those rights may be adjusted in future if circumstances demand.[1]
