Shudhu tomar priitir aloke is the 2132nd song of Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar's Prabhat Samgiita.[1][2]

Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Shudhu tomár priitir áloke
Tomáke jáná bojhá jáy
Vidyá buddhi kona káje láge ná
Sab kichu hay krpáy

Jatai jánuk jiiv jiṋán tár siimita
Parimita ádháre buddhio[nb 2] parimita
Tumi nitya tava sab kichu siimátiita
Spandita tava dyotanáy

Tabe kena ahamiká kenai bá bhule tháká
Nijer ajiṋatá vágjále kena d́háká
Tomár áloke cetaná jágáo loke
Cinmay tava karuńáy

O lord, it is only possible to know and realize you
by the effulgence of Your divine love.
To realize you, worldly knowledge and intellect
has no use; everything happens with your grace.
the base of human beings is limited,
that is why their knowledge and intellect is also limited.
you are eternal and all of yours is unlimited
and vibrates with your effulgence.
then why do living beings become egotistic
and forgetting the reality, brag about their greatness
using haughty, highsounding talks
in order to cover up their own ignorance,
hypocrisy and foolishness.
by your mercy, you awaken consciousness in them.

Notes

  1. ^ For details on the notation, see Roman Bengali transliteration.
  2. ^ This word has been incorrectly sung as vidyáo in the audio rendition. All of the Bengali textual source gives the word as buddhio.
