Social Punishment is the 30th chapter of Ananda Marga Caryacarya Part 1 written by Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar.[1]

Chapter synopsis

Sarkar told, anybody having committed an antisocial act will have to undergo a severe fast or punishment of any other type prescibed by an ácárya/á for the atonement of the sin. He told, only the person at fault – not any other member of his/her family should be penalized and as soon as the defect is rectified, the punishment or penalty should be withdrawn.[1]

Allegation against Ananda Margii

Sarkar told, if someone brings any allegation against the conduct of any Ananda Margi, it should be forwarded to an Acarya/a of a centre. If the Acarya/a of centre is absent, it should be forwarded to the other acarya/a who has taken the responsibility of further guiding the accused Margi regarding spiritual practices. If the second ácárya/á is not easily available, the matter should be brought to the notice of the upabhukti pramukha or the general bhukti pradhána concerned. Within a week a tribunal should be consisted to investigate the matter. If after investigation it is found that the allegation was true, the tribunal will decide the proper punishment for the accused.[1]

Allegation against family Acarya/a

Sarkar told, if allegation is brought against a family Acarya/a, it must be brought to the notice of the secretary, Central Acarya Board. The secretary will then constitute a tribunal, and, if the allegations are proved true, the tribunal will decide the punishment.[1]

Allegation against non-Acarya or a whole timer

If the allegation is against a non-Acarya or a whole-timer of any branch of Ananda Marga, it should be brought to the notice of the concerned head of that wing of Ananda Marga. The latter will then appoint a tribunal, and, if the allegation is proved true, the tribunal will decide the punishment.[1]

Allegation against wing-head

If the allegation is against wing-head, it should be brought to the notice of the general secretary of the Saḿgha.[1]
