Lyrics

Roman script[nb 1] Bengali script Translation

Tári patha páne man chut́e jáy
(Ánkhi go) Tári patha ceye tháke ánkhi

Tári lági hiyá udvel hay go
(Tháki go) Tári lági ánmaná tháki

Áji mor shayyáje kant́aka shayyá
Mor drśt́ite here jáoyá lajjá
Mor sajjáje niśprabha sajjá
(Rákhi go) E duhkh ámár kothá rákhi

Eta bhálobáse tabu áse ná
(Se kii go) Komale kat́hore bhará se kii

My attention flows ineluctably toward His pathway;
Oh my eyes— my eyes remain fixed on His pathway.

On account of Him, my heart is overwhelmed;
Oh I remain— I remain abstracted on account of Him.

Today, my bed, it is a bed of thorns;
Before my eyes is the disgrace of defeat.
My attire, it is a lackluster raiment;
Oh where to stow— where to stow my sorrow?

He loves me so much, and yet He does not come.
Oh how is He— how is He thoroughly tender and severe?
